Stop Domestic Violence

Dedication

Never, never have I been, nor will I be, an angel
but Angels that Care only cares
if I reach out now and then
to try to help someone who hurts
because someone who promised to care
turned on her, or turned on him.

Never, never have I shone, nor will I shine,
any more than I can fly,
but when Angels That Care inspires
me to spread my wings to protect
even a little a person who suffers --
whether man, woman, or child --
I can feel my spirit soar.
I can feel what it is to have wings.

Ever, ever, will I be glad
I joined Angels That Care.
I only hope one day to deserve the honor.
I know I can’t be an angel that cares,
but Angels That Care helps me share,
and when we share, wind lifts us high
for a moment here, for a moment there.
We know what it is to hear angels sing.
